Dedicated Dehumidifiers

The dehumidifiers in whole houses are permanently mounted. They run on commercial power 230/460, single-phase or outdoor air control three-phase. They can be used full time or only when needed. These dehumidifiers have a greater moisture control effect than air conditioners alone, because they can remove excess humid air and cool it.

Dehumidifiers are usually installed by homeowners by tying into existing ductwork, typically the return, to draw in air and dehumidify it. This method is effective, but not as efficient as connecting it to supply ductwork in order to dehumidify the air that enters the home.

DCA offers a system, the DAOS, that is an air to air heat pump. It not only dehumidifies incoming conditioned air but also prepares it for heating or cooling. The DAOS is sized to meet indoor humidity requirements, and works like an ERV without the wasteful heat recovery.

Commercial facilities often have unique humidity control requirements, and require systems to precondition outdoor air prior to entering the building. Manufacturing plants that are sensitive moisture, like circuit board production or chip assembly, fall into this category. Research and Development labs must also maintain specific humidity levels in order to perform optimally.
